A History of Community Engagement

The Colorado Chautauqua Cottager community encourages the active participation in events, gatherings, and of course in outdoor activities in our beautiful surroundings. We are dedicated to increasing our involvement in the Boulder community through outreach, and the sponsoring of events. From its inception, the Chautauqua Movement encouraged “Voluntary simplicity, Useful leisure, Lifelong learning, Nature as inspiration”. We’d like the Boulder community to get to know us better, and we’d like the opportunity to get to know you better too!

Become a Member

We are glad you’re interested in becoming a member of the Colorado Chautauqua Cottagers! If you are a cottage owner, a family member of an owner, or a regular guest, you may apply for membership. Membership entitles you to vote for Board members, attend Cottager meetings, and to access the Cottager address list and detailed calendar of events.

Fire Mitigation Volunteers

We will continue to need volunteers to help with on-going fire mitigation efforts. Your work will be greatly appreciated, and it’s a wonderful opportunity to get to know your fellow Cottagers better!

Arnold Sunday School

The Sunday School has been a Chautauqua tradition for more than 100 years. Join us for a few Sundays in July for fellowship at a non-denominational Christian service, followed by a get together at a Cottager’s home. Any donation to the School is greatly appreciated.

Donations

If you would like to support the Cottager Community, you may do so here. Your donations will be used to help fund our activities, pay for supplies, and finance our CCA Staff Appreciation day, another tradition here at Chautauqua. You may also make a restricted donation for a particular cause or donate in someone else’s name.

Arnold Sunday School

For over 100 summers, Cottagers, their friends, guests, and Boulder community members have gathered at The Community House at 9:30 on Sunday mornings for worship and fellowship.
